10 Leaf to a 7 Leaf Rear Spring for RPU

What leaves would I remove to change a 10 leaf rear spring to a 7 for my 1930 Roadster Pickup for smoother ride? Any help greatly appreciated. Mongodog Oklahoma

The true 7 leaf is actually not as simple as just removing 3 leaves. I do not know where a link to Marco's spring page is to provide a link, but the bottom leaf on a true 7 leaf is the same length as the top leaf, but with a sharper radius and 5 leaves above the main leaf. Rod

To convert a 10 leaf to an 8 leaf spring correctly you remove leaves 7 and 9. Roadster 7 leaf springs actually have a little different thickness leaves on a spring leaf or two. You can remove a leaf after converting a 10 leaf spring to an 8 leaf spring, but it wouldn't be quite like an original 7 leaf spring, but it would work. You need "filler" short leaf under the bottom leaf to make the spring hangers work. There are different spring hanger bottom parts for 10 and 7/8 springs. I am attaching a picture Marco made of the different rear springs.
