Default Brake rods and anti-rattle springs

While adjusting my rear brakes on a 31 Coupe I purchased almost intact after a frame off restoration, I noticed the anti-rattle springs were placed behind the welded knee on the rod. I have had problems with the brake pedal not fully returning and allowing the brake light to remain on. I removed the rods and located the wire spring type antirattles on the forward side of the welded knee and lo and behold, the brake pedal fully returns to the off position. Later, I just looked at the front brake rods and guess what I found? The antirattle was located about 18 inches aft of the welded knee. I suppose this means that the fwd brake rods were installed backwards. Please confirm the adjustable clevis for the front brake rods are located at the front of the car.
