Question Fuel line question

Getting ready install the fuel tank and line in the '35 pickup. Picked up 5/16 copper nickel tubing to do the job and got to wondering if I should run it right to the fuel pump or install a piece of rubber hose between the fuel pump and the metal line so the metal line doesn't vibrate and break?
Was the metal line originally hooked to the firewall with a rubber hose to the fuel pump?

Thanks,
Chris

I believe so otherwise the engine rock will damage the metal line.

Yes, you've got thew right idea, but be sure the "rubber" hose you use is alcohol resistant.

You might want to consider buying one of Robert Shewman's flexible fuel hoses. They are very well made and guaranteed for 5 years. Email: [email protected]

After studying the pic, it looks as though the copper supply line is 1/4 inch?

You had already stated that you bought 5/16" copper/nickle, so knowing you spent a bundle on that, nobody offered other suggestions to you.

The original equipment fuel line was copper/steel rolled/welded 1/4" tubing, a patented process by the name of Bundyweld. Bundyweld tubing is still manufactured today by the new owners of the Bundy Corporation in Michigan. Get it from a number of early Ford suppliers, I like to deal with Roy Nacewicz for many other Concourse correct parts:
