What do I need to travel to Niagara Falls Canada
and back to the USA?

Everyone going the MARC National Meet will need a US Passport Book or a US Passport Card.

The US Passport Book will allow you to fly or drive in and out of another country.
The alternative is the US Passport Card but while less expensive does not allow air travel and you can only drive into Canada.

You must choose which one will best fit your needs. Go to http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english.html for more information! You can pick up the application Form at the local Post Office.

Here is an explanation of the costs for an adult first time applicant:

Adult Passport Book only:
Will cost $110. Plus $25. For a total of $135.
Adult Passport Card only:
Will cost $30. Plus $25. For a total of $55. (restricted to Auto or ship travel- no flying)
You must have a photo so add (plus $12.00 for photos at Walgreens or Local post office)

The least expensive is the Passport Card, but it has limitations to auto travel only to Canada

The exchange rate for the US Dollar in Canada is, as of today 3/31. Percent of change is .734%. This means the US dollar will be worth 25% more in Canada for a tremendous savings. This savings will easily pay for the cost of the Passports, and with help reduce the cost of going to the MARC National Meet in Niagara Falls Canada.

The time to apply is NOW!

Go to your local Post Office for the forms and help.
If you wait past May 1st you may not have enough time and you will have to pay an expedite fee.

Please leave your guns at home, you do not have the right to bear arms in Canada. Too many tourists get in trouble at the border by deliberately or negligently trying to bring guns with them.

Relax, enjoy the meet and do not forget to tour the beautiful towns and countryside of the Niagara Peninsula. Remember some of the best Canadian Wine is produced there!

Disclaimer: I live 3,500 kms west of Niagara so won't be making the trip, but I love the area and its wine!

We now live in South Carolina,,,, to far to travel. We did go into Canada a couple of years ago on our Harley's. Checked on our concealed weapon carry and learned ..... DON'T even try to carry into Canada unless you may want to make it your permanent address. Nice place, but now citizen rights. We like to carry.

Our club is planning on an excursion into Canada this summer. These suggestions will be helpful to us as well. Only going to Dawson and Whitehorse, not as far as Niagara Falls.

The Niagara Parkway is "made" for the Model A's.

Winston Churchill visited Niagara Falls, Canada in 1943 and was driven along the Niagara Parkway, after which he described it as "the prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world".

Because "THEY" are from the CANMARC and therefore choose Canada, talk to your club about having a meet, they are great where ever they are!

Assuming that the Niagara Falls meet will not be cancelled due to Mikeinnj NOT attending; those that are coming up early might take in the "Fords in the Park" event on Sat, June 20th. It's a huge showing in a very large park with historic buildings, etc. There will be a tour on Sunday to the MARC meet in Niagara Falls.

You actually look from the cliff on the edge of the Canadian side of the river at the American Falls. The Canadian hospitality, cuisine, casinos, ice wine, culture, heritage and more potent Canadian beer awaits you. Your dollar is presently worth 20 cents more than ours. I would suggest you exchange your money coming into Canada at the currency exchange or bank and you will be guaranteed a fair exchange rate. Come prepared to have fun and you won't be disappointed !

I live close to Niagara Falls and always felt like they wanted me to leave my money and go home !!! Love the Canadian side ! And the beer!!! The people not so much !!!used to ride the bike there a lot !

No that we have been told Bruce. I would call YOUR Insurance company and let them know you are traveling to Canada though..
