I just picked up some slotted fasteners from the local Fastenal store. Fastenal did have to ship the fasteners from their warehouse or warehouses, but I am pretty sure they were shipping stuff to stores anyway. Today, I was stunned by the absorbent fee they made me pay - $6.91 for a little less than $13 of fasteners. That is over half the cost of the fasteners! I can't find the slotted fasteners at my local ACE hardware or to the stores that carry fasteners locally. I can't understand why they are charging this high fee, other than to try to really enhance their profit. I just wanted to warn or alert other Fordbarners to the high handling fees Fastenal charges if they order fasteners from them. The receipt is pasted in below.
