Windshield ID

I need some help Id'ing a windshield, it came with some T parts I picked up to do a speedster. I'm more of a Model A guy so I'd like to know if it is a T or not before I offer it for sale.

Was the top part of the hinge welded to the frame, riveted or held on by screws? If it was brazed/welded then the whole thing is 1917 to 1923, the mounting brackets at the bottom are home made. Yes T.

Thanks for the reply. The bottom brackets are what held up my research. The top part of the hinge is welded to the top frame. Mark

It does no resemble any Model T windshield I have ever seen. Could be for a truck since it is so tall. For sure not Model T.

Looks like what was a nice 1917 to 23 T windshield that some one made into junk.

Other than the bottom home made brackets it is the same as my Dad's 17 touring car. Hope he finally gets busy on it this winter. Rod

Here is why it can't be a Model T windshield.

The hinge is welded or riveted to the upper frame - see the arrow pointing at the area being discussed:



Now look at the hinge on a real Model T Ford windshield - there are screws securing the windshield frame to both upper and lower hinge:

That was a good trick to weld that frame with plate glass in there, OR weld the frame and REPLACE the plate glass in there! When stuff is a 100 years old ya just cant say... could've been used on a buckboard for all we know! Don't even waste your time across the hall... ws
