Default What are these worth?

Hi All,

I am not very familiar with banger parts, but I got a bunch with a car I bought a while ago. The car is gone, so I don't need the parts, but the previous owner told me they are really rare and worth some decent money. Here are the first couple parts, a pair of heads. One is aluminum, the other is cast iron and needs a little cleanup. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think I can realistically get for them.

Thanks,
John T

not real sure on value, but they are both high compression heads

i would be interested in them if you decide what you want for them

I sent the picture of the aluminum head to a friend, Pat. Here are his comments:
Looks like a Silberstein head to me, loosely copied from a Harley racing head, only a few were made.

He went on to say that he thought the patterns still existed. If Jim Brierley see this he might also have some info to share.

It's hard to know for sure from the pix (aluminum may have cold shuts in the casting process) but the aluminum head may have "frozen" and broken out the jacket top between cylinders 3 and 4.

A closer look may (hopefully) reveal different.

I agree that it appears to have been repaired in that area. Is that a crack between 3/4 plug holes or remains of repair or casting mark

Joe,

Thanks for the comments, the lines are really shallow and not cracks or breaks in the casting. As a matter of fact, I did some more searching and found another head that has almost the exact same marks as mine. Looks to be something with the mold itself maybe.
