Very early Victoria
Was at a swap meet last weekend and stumbled upon a very early Victoria body. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it but wow! It was being transported from one trailer onto another as it was bought before it was even unloaded. The car had a full metal sub frame instead of wood. That's the reason the guy gave for buying it. Said he had never seen one like that. Anybody know the story on these early Victoria's and why they switched to wood?

Re: Very early Victoria
Steel back or cloth back? Was it totally unrestored or something that had been reworked? Bob

Steel back. Was just a body, decent shape but unrestored.

Re: Very early Victoria
are you sure it was not a 32 Victoria they have a metal floor. I have never seen or heard of a Model A Victoria with a metal sub frame. and most if not all of the early Victoria`s were leather backs.

Re: Very early Victoria
I have heard of guys modifying the slant window four door floors which were steel and putting them into Vicky's as it was cheaper than a wood kit at the time.

Re: Very early Victoria
About ten years ago I had one. ROUGH! The guy I got it from cut it in half right through the rear window so it would lay flat on the ground and the neighbors couldn't complain since the stone wall blocked the view of this '32 body. Regret selling it, even if I did do well on the sale. Bob

Re: Very early Victoria
We had a 32 Victoria come on MAFCA's blue ridge tour with us. Guess I should have looked harder at it.
