6 to 10 spline.
Hello Fordlovers! This is my first post on Fordbarn. Has anybody here used the 6 to 10 spline sleeve(?) that connects the driveshaft to the pinionaxle? Some "expert" told me it was known to cause vibrations. Has anybody here the same experience?

Re: 6 to 10 spline.
Fjord,
I converted my `35 Cabriolet's 4.11 to a 3.54 last year. I took the driveshaft and 6 spline adaptor to a driveshaft shop. They replaced the 10 spline with the 6. I asked them if it was true. Their reply was it is straighter now than when you brought it in. There is absolutely no vibration at any speed, one of the best things I did for my Ford. I can cruise Interstate at 65-70 easily with a stock 85 horse engine. The cost? $35 and two dozen doughnuts. Shadetree |

Re: 6 to 10 spline.
I have used many of them in the old days.
They work fine as long as either spline is not worn out. Installed on really sloppy splines, the pin will break and you could get some vibration. |
