My first restoration ( 38 pickup )
Hey all,
First of all, I want to thank everyone on this forum for all the help. Without this site I definitely would have been lost. I bought this truck, from a craigslist ad, from across the country. I live in South Florida and saw it on Washington state craigslist. We don't have cars like that down here, so I had to jump on it and take a gamble. ( I never saw it in person) The gamble paid off and when it got down here it looked pretty good. It had some rust bubbles, and in a Florida climate meant I had to repaint it. I have horrible A.D.D. and well, that quickly changed to a frame off restoration. I've had a ball, and I love looking at everyone's pics of their restorations, so I thought I'd share mine. I have a ton more so if you want to see them let me know and I'll post them. Thanks again guys |

Ok!
Heres a couple of the bed during the disassembly. Notice that nothing was holding it up really.... I had no clue wood went in between there. Notice my little shade tree mechanic spot... |

Re: My first restoration ( 38 pickup )
I also have a 38 pickup, oddly same color scheme. Currently the truck is at my dad's. He is 85 and health wise going down hill. He had it semi restored. Since I live so far from him, I leave it there and drive him around town when I visit.
Great restore! |

That's a nice '38. It brings back memories. I had a '38 in 1954 that I drove to high school.

Re: My first restoration ( 38 pickup )
still fits! Had to make my own wood for the cab and bed. Old stuff was pretty bad. Hung the doors too, they needed some massaging...

Re: My first restoration ( 38 pickup )
Color looks great. Is that the same color as a 9N tractor should be?
