Winfield Head
I started a previous thread on this; seems I cannot add to it. Please search under "Winfield" and my FordBarn moniker.
First, many thanks to you members for the expert help & opinion. Greatly appreciated. Secondly & a subject reminder: my brother-in-law was a San Jose, Ca hotrodder in the 1950s;he passed away a couple of years ago & I inherited his antique parts & 1947-64 hot rod mag collection. He was extremely honest and very financially secure. One item he owned & we'd often discussed was his "Winfield overhead for Model B; I never knew if he meant Gene Winfield or Ed Winfield. Today I was able to talk on the phone with Gene Winfield. He confirmed to me that he NEVER had Oakland Tool & Die manufactured such an item for him (10 were commissioned about 1953). That means this head, as some members here estimated & accurately, was n Ed Winfield product. |

Re: Winfield Head
As far as most of us are concerned (I think), any Flathead Ford 4, 6, 8 and/or 12 cylinder, as well as OHV I-6 motors (made from '32 to '53) are welcomed here, even if they have Speed Equipment on them...

Re: Winfield Head
I bought one of the new Winfield heads about three years ago, had to wait till they were cast and them machined. Put it on a A and have never strated it. Looks like a really good head. Got it from the guy in CA that owns the molds now.

Re: Winfield Head
Vic...I agree. Not that my vote counts for much. Its just good to read and gobble info. Pre-53 is for me.

I'm sure my "vote" doesn’t count either however, those engines were built by Ford in the early V8 era so, in my opinion, they should be included in the conversations on this forum.
