Default Turns over slowly.

My friend has a 39 Dodge and I have a 40 LaSalle. We both have the same issue and since no other auto maker has FORUMS like Ford does I am hoping to find some help here.

The cars start easily when cold. After running for awhile, then parked and shut off, if they sit for 10 minutes or so they turn over so slowly they will not start. After they have cooled they start up normally once more.

What causes this and what's the repair? I suspect there or Fords with similar issues.

Thank you in advance.
