Default Early '28 rear brake grease baffle

I was getting ready to post a photo of my early '28 rear grease baffle to the thread about rear backing plate bolts, when it dawned on me: did I install this correctly?

The grease baffle fits oriented as shown or it can be turned 90 degrees so that it is vertical. Which is correct?

Thanks.
