There are plenty of intake manifolds around that have vacuum holes in them, so I wouldn't drill a hole in an intake manifold that doesn't have a hole in it - save it for someone with a 28 or early 29. I have seen to many manifolds drilled and tapped and usually not in the right place - many times on the top.
