Wilson Welding vs M T Lincoln Backing Plates?
Which is best? I want to put a set on my 36 pickup. I plan to use 39 spindles and drums. I'm leaning towards Wilson's but would like some input.
Thanks, Bill |

Re: Wilson Welding vs M T Lincoln Backing Plates?
I installed the the MT Products on all 4 wheels (1940 Ford) and they work fine. Bought them from Gary at Cornhuskers Rod and Custom. You have to grind a little metal off the 40 front spindles to make the backing plates fit properly as per the instructions. I can email you photos if you wish. Price was good. Give him a call and see what he says re: differences, if any. http://cornhuskerrodandcustom.net/Pages/home.aspx

I just don't know how it could get any better than MT Car Products brakes. Just note that you need 1-3/4" shoes when ordering. DD

Have sold dozens of MT brake kits with no problems. The fit and finish is excellent. Grinding the spindles for backing plate clearance is necessary with both MT and Wilson. Gary at Cornhusker
