Default Cooling system in Model A Ford

Just bought a Model A, after many years of collecting Model T's. Is the cooling system in a Model A pressurized?

No but it has a pump. That's an upgrade from a T.

No, but not much pressure. the cap is more like a seal to close the chamber.

So it's safe to open the radiator cap, without worring about getting scalded with hot water?

If your car overheats after driving you could get burnt when taking off the cap.

Pretty much safe but one never knows. If it is hot then use a rag as it can get very hot and just in case...

p.s. Welcome, pictures?

If the water is boiling over, let cool down, don't touch it. Even though its not pressurized it can boil out the top. Also the steam can burn you very quickly.

As long as your overflow tube is not clogged, it has no pressure .

I open my hood after a drive, and open my radiator top... As the car cools heat is transferred to the top and you'll see that with a laser thermometer, the top of the radiator etc.gets hotter...
