help with 1934 parts source
I have been unsuccessful in my search for sources for the following parts;
1. 1934 cabriolet header seal (part #40 761440). 2. the small bare metal plates that are found on each side of the outer edge at the top of the body channel that the rumble lid seats. The plates are approximately 1 1/4" high by 3" in length and are held in place by a single screw / bolt and I am guessing that the keep the lid from moving side to side. The nomenclature of this part and a part number would also be of help. Any help to locate these parts would be greatly appreciated. Walt K. in PA |

Re: help with 1934 parts source
Left to right on the first photo: 1-original worn out, 2-NOS (came in black on front, no paint on back, 3-blank aluminum, 4-homemade repro. The second photo is an edge view, showing the taper from the bottom to the top. A 1/4-20 flathead with a nut and lockwasher is used to mount them. Countersink the hole before tapering. The hole is large enough to allow the flathead to end up below the surface. Trim the blank to size, drill, countersink, then taper, polish and paint. I believe body color would be correct. If you want an installed photo, let me know.

Zimmco,
Thank you very much for the sketch and photos. The information is exactly what I was hoping to find. Your offer of a photo of an installed guide would also be of help. Again, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Walt K. in PA |

Have you tried Dick Spadaro? If he doesn't have it, he will know if it is available.

Re: help with 1934 parts source
Here's a photo of a guide installed. The lid doesn't touch this one, and just barely touches the one on the right.
