Default 32 Duel Exhaust

I have a set of Reds headers and Smithy's mufflers. The headers are 1 3/4 and the mufflers are 2". I would rather run 1 3/4 all the way with reducers on mufflers for easy install

Other option is increase to 2" at header and run 2 all the way.

Your thoughts

I think 1 3/4" will give a higher pitched sound [ & fit better], 2" will have a deeper sound.

Thanks----I want to over the rear axle then under the rear spring so 1 3/4 will be easier to work with.

I'd go with what you got and see how you like it.

Dis-regard the frame is it is not to "ford barn friendly".This is more in response to the exhaust question.I am also running Reds headers and opted to keep the exhaust 1 3/4 to the mufflers.I reduced the inlet and the outlet down to 1 3/4 on the mufflers and then welded flanges on them. The reason for welding the flanges was that I wanted to be able to remove the mufflers easily to install straight pipes if I wanted.I ran the tail pipes over the axle but didn't finish the outlet untill I put the body back on and can get the correct height that I want.Who knows I may never install the straight pipes but wanted to have that option

Keep in mind the radius rods will go up and down, I didn't and had to modify the tail pipes to move them after the pipes were bent. Zeke

My E-Brake cables are higher than the radius rods. The biggest problem is the rear axle housing travel.

I went with 2" all the way both sides and had a lot of fun getting everything in place without touching the frame anywhere or interfering with the radius rods. I'll see if I can find any pictures of it and post them.
