NWRGM (MAFCA) in Bend, Oregon (GOOD eats)
For those of you who are going to Bend for the NWRGM (MAFCA) the first part of September 2013 and for those of you who like out of the way diners, you need to plan a drive out to Silverlake. It is southeast of Bend about 50 or so miles out in the high Oregon desert.
If you like BBQ beef, chicken, bean soup, salad, potatoes all in a western setting (trust me...it for sure is a western setting), it is like going back to the 1880's and getting off a stagecoach to have dinner or even a 1920's-1930's out of the way place. It is called The Cowboy Dinner Tree and they only take reservations and they do fill up FAST! (Trust me)! You will not regret the drive or the food! Anybody besides me that has been there? Have fun in Bend. Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 08-11-2013 at 09:43 AM. |

Been there a few times. And the food is terrific! And when you make reservations, they would like to know what you want. The Steak is huge and the chicken, well, you get the whole dang thing, so go hungry!!
Here is a picture of some cars from the High Desert A's when they went out for dinner there. |
