Default '39 speedo cable and gear box

Hey guys,
I'm having a little trouble figuring what the correct path for the speedo cable is for '39, because of what I think is the wrong orientation of my speedo gearbox. The exploded parts diagram in the service bulletins appears to have the turtle oriented 180 degrees opposite to the way it is in my car.
That would make more sense based on what I think would be the correct path for the speedo cable.

Is this the correct path?

1. cable leaves the back of the speedometer
2. goes down the left inside of the firewall behind the insulator panel
3. exit the firewall into the engine compartment through the hole at the bottom left of the firewall
4. heads toward the rear under the LH cross-member where it's secured to the bottom of the cross member with a bracket (99A-17263).
5. follows the bottom of the cross-member going under the transmission mounts, and plugs into the speedo gearbox

Thanks.

Your speedometer driven gear is upside - down.
The routing you describe sounds correct.
Hopefully, these few pictures will help.

Someone wasn't paying attention when they put that turtle back on. Maybe they changed the gearing for a tire size change. The case is stamped 21. Guess I'll find out when I remove it.

Thanks for the great pictures, really helpful. And ditto on the work!
