I would think that your question would best be answered on the street rod/modified forum.

I would think that someone out there has had this same problem. I am running a 53 merc with navarro heads and offy manifold with two strom 97s but have not sorted this out yet. I just thought it would be a simple question. thanks steve

denton34...Your question was perfectly legitimate. For what it's worth, I'd like to apologize for the un-necessarily insulting reply above. It's not the norm from most of the folks on this site. Most of the people on this board try very hard to share the incredible amounts of information available, which many folks here have gained over decades. Welcome to FordBarn. DD

To answer your question... Stromberg of England has just introduced a new TV kickdown provision for use with 97's and automatic trannys.
PM me for details, or go to the site.

I don't feel my post was insulting. I certainly did not mean to be. Just trying to help the guy with some direction for an answer to a non-stock problem, which I understand this particular forum is meant to address. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Lawson your response was a legitimate one directing the question to a forum that might be able to respond with a better answer. Actually I would have suggested posting the question on the HAMB. I can't imagine anyone taking offense at your recommendation.

Thanks to V8cooperman and uncle max for your good response and infomation. I will try the stromberg web site. I have been building and racing cars for 40 years, street rods, customs and originals. I am trying to build a 35 pu with a 53 fh and just needed some info from people that have maybe had the same situation. I will try the hamb also.

I'm trying to do the same with my 50 F2 so the wife can drive it, only I need to hook the TV cable to a Holley 94. Anyone tried that?

On the hamb they don't care to much for automatics either. Some for reasons need or want a automatic. I know a few old guys that have automatics because the clutch would just wear them out driving around town. As long as it keeps them on the road it's fine with me.
