Default When to install the glass

Im getting ready to have my 1928 Fordor painted. Whould it be better to have the side window glass in before it is painted or after?
What about the front windshield? Before or after the paint?
Thanks

Depends...if you are a purist, then install the windows AFTER painting of the body and the windshield frame...if you are not a purist, then do it the other way.

Painting everything prior to assembly like Ford did provides the appearance of a restoration. Painting after assembly looks good from a distance but up close looks like a "paint job".

i paint the frames, then put the glass in and paint the rest of the car. Mostly because i am clumsy and would scratch the paint putting the car back together. Now you can choose a method that suites you best.

I find that most things require an absolute minimum of two times assembly. (sometimes 20 !!!) First assemble unpainted to check that after all your repairs, straightening, welding and grinding, everything fits perfectly together, then disassemble completely, paint and then assemble again.
