Default Need to ship parts? PROPS to Greyhound! (and CO29Coupe)

I just wanted to put this here as it was my first experience using them. I bought a seat from member CO29Coupe and UPS quoted over $300.

As we were trying to figure out how to get it from Colorado to Michigan reasonably I suggested he look at Greyhound as I had heard of other people using it for large items. They quoted $70 and he and I felt it was worth trying as neither of us had done a Greyhound shipment before.

It showed up perfect and quickly, and they did not even snag the packaging.

I highly suggest this based on this first shipment, I will definitely use them again for large bulky shipments.

Also THANK YOU to CO29Coupe for a great transaction!

Greyhound is cheap. They just aren't fast.

They were just as fast as UPS would have been for me, if not faster.

Fast and Cheap. I've used them a dozen or more times. I've sent seat cushions, front fenders and rear fenders.

I highly recommend Greyhound.

I have shipped about 20 items with them in the last 10 years. Only had a problem once when I shipped a 35 Ford tudor sedan door to Oaklahoma. They lost it at the depot at the destination. No problems with the claim proccess other than it took a week longer than I thought it should have. I had a real upset customer until the claim finally came through. Rod

It took Greyhound four days to get a package from Los Angeles to Stockton, CA. Missed Christmas.

I hsve shipped F150 OD transmissions via Greyhound on more than one accasion. Cheaper and about the same time frame as UPS. Greyhound is not a s fussy about packing and crating as UPS. Downside was they would not deliver it to the customers door. Some people are lazy I guess. he-he.

29ModelA so how does this work .I've heard you have to place the package on the bus and have someone remove it at the other end...If thats the case that isn't so bad...Is there any restrictions ? I have a Columbia to ship cross the states .....

I have a friend who received a hood for a '61 Studebaker VIA Greyhound. They even loaded it into his truck for him.

The CO29Coupe wrapped both halves of the seat together in bubble wrap, and took it to the local station by him. They weighed it and gave him the quote and he shipped it. They called me yesterday when it got to my local terminal and I just went down and picked it up. They ship it in the extra area of the luggage compartments.

I did not realize how large those were until I saw one opened up while picking up my seat. You could easily fit the large Model A front fenders and things in there.
