Martin,
Deluxe has Mohair upholstery, roll-down rear window, cowl lights, and probably something I'm forgetting, probably a GRUMBLE SEAT. Bill w.

was it just the difference between 28-29 and 30-31 but the spare was on the back or cowl mount?

Could cowl lights be ordered as options for a standard couple also? Or were all the Deluxe features added only as a package from the factory?

Dlx coupe came out in late 30. The roll down back window was added in 31. The dlx coupe came with a woodgrain interior. Also has a fancier fabric used on seats and door panels. It had fancier inside door handles and window crank handles. It has an adjustable seat and rear window shade. It came with a carpet mat and a pinstripe on the gas tank. There were also a couple of special colors only offered on the dlx. It doesn't take much to deluxe one up which ever one you buy.

Forgot the dlx came with cowl lights. I know dlx had a dome light, not sure about the standard.

My Early '30 Standard 5 window coupe was built from an unmolested car & DID have adjustable seat, moved about 4" with 77 turns on the BIG knob! Almost always I would forget which way was which?? Somewhere later, they used the lever type adjuster, like, real QUICK!---CLICK, CLICK, CLICK! (Not tryin' to be funny, but we don't have sound here. ---GOD FORBID!) Bill W.

Rumble seat and side-mount spare were options.
