Smaller than the average car... interestingly enough, most of the older garages in my neighborhood (pre- WW II) are "Model T - Model A -sized"... some of them have little vestibules tacked-on to the door-end to accomodate later / longer cars...

Our two car garage is just big enough to park an 18 - 19 ft sedan inside, and open the door just far enough to squeeze-out and shimmy past... not really enough room to be a shop...
