Default Windshield Installation Question

I am restoring a 1929 Tudor. Can you install the windshield with the windshield hinge attached to the header already. Will the windshield slide over the installed hinge??? Should you use any type of lubricant in the hinge before installation?? A seach of the forum did not answer these questions, so I am asking for advice. As always, thanks for any and all answers. Thanks, Harold

It might but it will be a pain in the butt...most, if not all, are done with the assembly removed from the car. Should you use any type of lubricant in the hinge before installation?? You can...but not oil...maybe some graphite. A seach of the forum did not answer these questions, so I am asking for advice. As always, thanks for any and all answers. Thanks, Harold

I can install my 29 coupe windshield which is the same as the tudor with the hinge mounted to the header. Just disconnect the visor on one side by removing the screws and bend the end out of the way then when the windshield is back in place bend it back and put back the two screws.

Hi Harold, I'll have to get over to see how you're doing on the tudor. My friend Joe gives me updates occasionally. I have a new knee so can't drive the Model A for a few more weeks. Good luck, Barry

Ha Ha Ken, the NOS one is gone, I hope the new one wasn't made in China but who knows. Tight on shifting the Model A's though. Got to be ready for Hershey. I'll stop by to see you , have the coffee ready.
Thanks, Barry
