Default Since we've delt with Slantwindow glass......

Would someone let me know which end of the quarter window glass, is the "keyhole" end of the glass channel supposed to be facing(front or rear)? I thought the battle to install the door glasses was bad, but the quarter window is winning! I got it out which is usually easier than aligning everything to go back, but now I'm questioning my channel orientation(CRS). It doesn't help that the upolstery is installed, etc. Any suggestions for getting the spring loaded wheel into the keyhole/slot?

I just looked at my originals: the big end goes forward.

I removed the glass by removing the entire panel with the crank mechanism. If that is removed, shouldn't it be easy to fit the wheel into the slot?

The keyhole was installed to the rear in order for me to crank the arm up into a position to pop the wheel out. The way that aligned made me suspicious as it looked like it could(?) come out in the raised position. Since I'm replacing 100% plate glass (great prior restorer) with safety glass, I was trying to undo the least amount of upholstery, etc. It looks like I'll have to remove that upholstery under the quarter window to remove the regulator panel. And the beat goes on................... And all of this in 95 degrees, and this ain't Texas!

Bummer, that rear quarter panel with the armrest is complicated to remove.
I was more fortunate, in a way: I did not have to avoid damaging any of the upholstery that was on my car when I got it...

P.S.: We hit 105 today here in NJ.
