Will shoot you some pics this weekend. What I had in my 39 was a seat support the same shape as the seat bottom. Had a knob @ left and right corners which that bottom wood sat/mounted on.

My seat back just had two hinges that connected to the seat wood frame and just rested against the cab back. I do not remember any mount to the cab back. G.M. and other's with our year may chime in with other details.

Luckly the seat location fits my reach good to the pedals and the steering wheel. There is no moveing that forward or backward. Good luck

My '40 has 3 holes to adjust the seat forward and back.

My pickup had originally been a flatbed and the gas tank is under the front seat. The back rest is hinged at the top just below the rear window. The bottom seat is hinged at the rear and the hinge has two sets of caged nuts (a total of 3) to adjust the forward and back position. The back rest has a 1 x 3" board hinged at the bottom of the rest, and when hinged up the back rest is all the way back and when hinged down puts the lower portion of the back rest forward 3". This sounds confusing, I hope it is clear to you. I saw a 1938 pickup a few weeks back and that had a post about1" high in each front corner of the lower cushion. The seat frame had 3 holes in it and moving the seat to the prober hole adjusted the lower cushion.

I have those posts (knobs) @ each front corner that my seat wood sits on. Don't see 3 or even a spot were a third would have been. The bottom of the seat were it is wood has only the 2 holes were they rest over those posts (knobs). Looked again on my back rest and no hinge. It's probably been long gone. I got pillows

The metal seat support has two holes @ either side to bolt down to the floor and @ the rear, in each corner has a 2 hole bracket to keep it supported near the cab corners.
