Default question for 4 door murray owners ( 1930 )

Gent's I am ready to mount the glass in the rear quarters, the rubber nicely around the perimeter of the glass and did a trial fit. So far so good.

Now by looking at it from inside the car ( glass / rubbers in place ) I Mounted the Garnish molding and by looking at the bottom corners something seems not to be right here.

The outside reveals are curved and the Garnish moulding at the inside the bottom has 90 degrees corners if you look at those bottom corners inside again some part of the body is exposed.

Have I goofed somewhere ? Or is this standard , or do I need a filler piece
of some kind in those bottom corners. A picture would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Gerard

Gerard: You haven't missed anything. The corners are exposed. I have thought about making a filler piece but, to the best of my knowledge, there was originally nothing in those corners. I could post a picture if you would like. Gar Williams

On a S/W sedan, all the side windows have that issue. If you are painting the car, just don't forget to do those areas.

Thanks Guy's , that's a relief I really thought I missed something. Doug , yes I have sprayed the inside's. Gar, thanks for the offer but I don't think it is necessary I leave as it is exposed so to speak.

Thanks,

Just now dismantling that part of mine. Cleaned out the original rubber window edge material that stuck to the body side of the window space. The lower square corners of the two back side windows had a particularly thick and wide rubber moulding component that fully blocked in the empty space I think you are referring to. If I were replacing the window... and that may be a while before it happens...and the rubber edge liner left the space void . I's figure out something to plug it up with. Maybe marine grade sealant that remains semi-soft. Or something like that.
Good luck! Rancho

I saw this older post I'm also in the process of doing this now and I now see the void you guys are talking about.I dont think there is a good way to fix this other then a premaid window seal with extra rubber in the corners.Or a really close match and fill it in.

Gerard,
So what did you do? Any pic's? I'll probably be running into the same questions/answers on my 31 so I'm interested in what you did.

Gerard,
Did you ever find your NOS driver-side welled fender? Bruce

Bruce,
No , I have not. I now have decided to have my fenders repaired by a professional body man with a good ( read expensive ) reputation.
