is your carb a one barrel? i am not familiar with the detroit lubricator carb. i would think a stromberg 48 or 97 r even 81 would run on it or the 94 holley carbs. more info please.

There is an adapter from the single barrel DL to the Stromberg 2-barrel base so any of the Strombergs could be used. I believe Marvel also made a replacement for the DL without the adapter.

Switching to any two barrel carburetor will entail a change to a '34 or later intake manifold, which in turn will entail a change in generators, fuel pumps and perhaps the fan. There were some adapters made at one time to mount a two-barrel carburetor on a '32 or '33 manifold, but that set up looks pretty inefficient, in my opinion.

I run Detriot lube carburettor on my 32 and I have had no problems at all.
A carburettor from the 6 cylinder side valve ford developed in the 40's will fit and works well but you have to alter the linkages and the aircleaner, also over here in N.Z. there is one model of Holden ( General Motors product) carburettor fits and works O/K. |
