Default 1950 Flathead-What is this object"

After taking the intake manifold off I found this object. Does anyone recognize what it might be?

It was in the very back of the valley.

it measures appx. 5/8" high and 1/2" across. Appears to have been circular shaped.

Engine has adj lifters with 8,000 miles.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post!

it is a part of the fuel pump lever mechanism that has fallen off.

It looks like some type of clip. Perhaps it accidently fell into the engine when the intake was removed and no one noticed.

Yes the end of the fuel pump operating arm. This cage keeps the push rod under the operating arm. Appears to be broken off the pump operating arm.
