Default front and rear blinkers/turn signals. -ideas?

I've seen a few cars set up with small aftermarket yellow turn signals, often mounted on bumpers. I have looked in the past, but not sure I really like to attach one of those turn signal devices to my steering column. I think they look ugly.

any other ideas?

First the "turn signal devices" are nothing more than a stack of switches. With a couple of relays (or transistors) a toggle switch (double throw + neutral) or even 3 button switches could be wired to do the job. There is a wiring diagram posted here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/527976756306148232/.

Other options for mounting the lamp besides the bumper include inside the grille, on 1936's inside the horn grille. 1970's Chrysler turn signal indicators that mounted on top of the fenders were popular once with street rodders but are now hard to find.

You will be making a modification that will push the car gently in the direction of "street rod"... so be creative! And enjoy. There is no right or wrong, its your car.

Use an early VW switch, they look the part. They are metal, can be painted and fit around the column not sticking off like a zit attached with a hose clamp.

Look on E-Bay and you'll find an American Auto Wire switch #500148 which is a toggle switch you can hide on a bracket under the dash. I have used them and they work well, but a little pricey compared to the column switch.

I use a switch such as #500148 drilled under the dash ,I have a high stop light /Flasher coupled into the circuit using four 50 cent diodes to stop feedback, four flashers on the bumpers . works great , Ted

What are you putting them on? Hide something under the dash?
