Default new "A" builder here

I purchased a Model A rolling chassis. First , I wanted to see what year it was. I found the serial number, but it seems one digit is missing. There are six digits but got by other things about the frame, there should be seven. Best we have figured it may be a January '31 frame. I am missing brackets from this chassis. I want to put a pickup body on it. If anyone can help with body mounting brackets , I'm interested. I'm new to As, but not car restoration.

Is the frame missing the front horns? If so, I'd be inclined to find a different frame. Here's what the front horns should look like.

Horns definitely missing. They sell replacements.

Welding on a set of horns . . . welding is what I do all the time basically . . easy job. Not a project killer at all.

Check the frame for sag. They often sag by the rear motor mounts, and with a bare frame that would be an easy fix.

First thing to know is the frame needs to be perfectly flat from the front crossmember to the rear spring member, no sag. Frame horns and body mount brackets are available from the major parts vendors. Brattons, Snyders, Mikes, etc.
