I asked the question about using an alternative part, but have yet to receive a response on it. I would like to know what the process is! On the Carpenter gasket, if they refuse to manufacture it, but have the molds, sell the molds to someone that will so we can all move forward!

Yes I need one really bad or a substitute to slow down or eliminate water intrusion.
We should be able to acquire power of the multitude to execute this valiant effort. Long live the ‘39 Mercury Model 8 four door sedan |

this thread has been doing the rounds for nearly 2 years yet still no costing i like many need a costing as freight off mainland USA is just ridiculous and often takes the total cost into fantasy land and forces you to find local alternatives to keep the landed cost doable often a $50 dollar part will be in excess of $150 just due to freight

I have contacted Dennis Carpenter 3 or 4 times over the last few years and have been told each time that they still intend to produce the 1940 Mercury windshield seals. They never have been able to tell me a date for production, still have it listed on their website, and have even recently upped the price. I’d be I for two gaskets right off the bat!! Keep contacting them with your need, “squeaky wheel “ may push them!
