Yeah. Not sure what that thing is. The OP should show the bottom side of the valve, and a pic of his carb.
The Ford manual shows a spark control valve that looks like the one in your pic #8 of the link you posted, which looks like the one I posted, but from the cross section in the manual, the spark control valve would have no “port” or opening on the bottom for the vacuum signal. The vacuum signal would only come via an opening on the side of the valve.
For sure this is confusing, and that’s why I’m a bit curious to learn a bit more about this spark control feature.
