Default Puttin in my 36 pickup

Sunset was so bright last night. Cruising on a blacktop about 35 MPH. Felt like I was in heaven. Window open, flathead sans a muffler purring its sweet song! Oh for the simple pleasures that make ya feel great!

Speaking of "puttin," the great thing about a Flathead with 4:11 gears and tuned properly, I can turn corners in town without downshifting to 2nd gear. No chugging but just smooth acceleration.

Looks good Lanny. I started doing a sunset drive years ago when I came home from work every day mad at the world. I called it my "one hour of peace" Now retired, but can't seem to kick the habit, go almost every evening

That will put a smile on your face. Many people don't understand the greatness that is the well tuned stock flathead V8, they make driving a real pleasure.

I am so very envious. Weather permitting, you have inspired me to actually take one out for a drive vs. just looking at them.
Thank you for that inspiration!

I’m fortunate to have miles and miles of two lane road to “putt” on……..none of them are as straight as that road though………great picture!!……….Mark
