Default 1940 Coupe from The Bruce Church Collection

Just 16,000 original miles on my 1940 Standard Coupe. The Italmeccanica supercharger is a rare original piece. It was part of Bruce Church's collection for many years.

That’s a beauty! The car isn’t bad, either.

Years ago a similar car [telephone co. green] was sold out of Portland, Oregon, originally a Bell Telephone car, then supercharged by second owner. Newc

Looks like they removed the supercharger before or at Mecums. I expect to see it come up individually at a high price soon. It makes sense to me. One could say that the supercharger detracts from the most interesting aspect of this car; the ultra-low mileage. Plus, it's a very valuable piece on it's own.

I swapped the 40 engine for a 59L with a Merc crank, custom ground camshaft and other Hot Rod goodies. Go Devil Garage machined and assembled the engine. The original engine is on a cart under my work bench.

I have a set of those wheel bands, but I don’t run them on my ‘41. I like the look of the wheel color showing. I just run the trim rings and hubcap. Looks good on the ‘40 though, shows off the wide whites.
