I noticed a problem with the head gasket on my 32 sedan. I got the gasket changed and had it back running today. The gasket that failed was a "best" brand. It is the second one that has failed. I'll not use them again.

Swapped the #50 main jets in my '41 Merc for #52's. Runs stronger and without the lean surging, which wasn't that bad, but my perfectionism dictated I get it as good as I can.

My brother and I finished replacing the gas tank in dad's 46 sedan yesterday. It took longer than it should, but reproduction parts required modification. The only parts that bolted straight on were the fasteners from Third Gen Auto.
Brake job on the car is next.

Changed oil in the '41 Merc. Used Valvoline VR1 20-50 this time. This oil along with several others was highly recommended by Blackstone labs, they do very scientific research and testing of oils. I swear the car has more power than it did. I also blocked the radiator to get the temp up to about 200* while at a fast idle, the oil pressure held up much better than previously.

While traveling down Rt .30, in my 40, towards the Auburn,Cord,Duesenberg Fest in Auburn Indiana, Around 50 mph, there was a knocking sound. A few seconds later the knocking sound stopped, as a connecting rod exited the block.
Another adventure with Old Cars.
If it was not for the bad luck ,I would have no luck at all,
