Enjoying this thread. Did you determine the approximate build date of your car?, any date codes on the glass? 1942 were built between September 41 and Feb. 42. Can’t wait to see how the interior gets done, my ‘41 need a headliner.

Check out Rock Auto for a headliner, they could provide one for my 37.

Glass date is not car-build date. Unrelated. My January 1933 car has June 1933 glass.
You can confirm with the sage members here! |

A June car with January glass, OK, but not the other way around. |

It's been a while since I last posted, but we've made a lot of progress on the 42. I've been really busy, though. I'm updating with some body work pictures. These are pictures of some areas that rusted all the way through.

Keep posting pictures! It is fun to see a complete restoration, I don't get to see one much anymore.

Restored the steering wheel, not yet painted, waiting for the interior to be done before I choose the paint color.

Great work John! I'm enjoying your pictures. Looks a lot better than my '48 repairs.
What did you use for filler on the steering wheel? Al Hook |

Congratulations on doing it right. My '51 needs to go through that process. However, the previous owner did do the repairs in metal and they have held well for over 50 years, so I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it.
In a perfect world though........ |
