Default Re: What did you do today that was flathead V8 related?

Removed the Broken hood release hand on my 40 Deluxe. Good thing the Son was there to help. Can no longer bend over backwards and reach over my head.(77)
Tried to fit the Repop handle but it looks nice but does not fit correctly. A little work with the die grinder should work. Quit after a hour or so too hot. 89 degrees. Will try tomorrow if it aint to hot. Update later.

i know what your talkin about bending backwards looking upwards towards raised hood to r and replace hood handle. even harder to remove hood lay on blanket on floor. ive just recently chose to replace the pitted handle with restored re chromed orig. i used one of those smaller round bathroom normal mirror on one side and magnifieing on other side with stand. set the mirror on the radiator stradling the cap. view is upside down and backwards but seemed to work for my old neck and spine. Tom.
