Oil transfer - recommendations?

I have a hand pump, but I’m starting to suspect it may be a bit small. Took a few hundred pumps to fill the gearbox last time. Was like filling it up a spoonful at a time.

I was running 80W-90, but it was suggested I try something thicker, which I did. It might be the cooler weather but the synchros don’t work so well with thicker oil - wear might be an issue, so I’m looking to revert.

Before I go through the hassle of the refill I thought I’d ask. Many thanks for the suggestions all.
