I don't know if the acorn nuts were used after the '34s as the body parts and hardware catalogues do not provide specific applications of the nuts. My view is based the twenty plus cabriolets, coupes, and roadsters that I have owned over the years plus other '32-'34s observed.

I have been a part in the restoration of over 15 ‘34-‘37’s (mostly roadsters) and have never seen anything but the combination of a hex nut with the tab washer.
