Today I blasted the interior of the drums and found another number : 78-1106-C1 ![]() Again a weird number, in the Matford book they list a 78-1105-C1 that is a finned replacement for the '36 and up rear drum. Unfortunately my Matford parts book is '32 to '38 models only, I've never seen a later edition which is not a surprise because of the war. After the war Matford didn't come back, Ford resumed production of the modified pre war matford model but with hydraulic brakes, I've never seen a parts catalog for this model. So my drum could be a later '39 or '46-'47 but I can't check any part number for these years. But that wouldn't make sense because the guy I got the drums from had 2 sets, one from a '36 Matford and one from a recently imported '37 Ford pickup. And this was the bearings I removed: ![]() Clearly marked MatFord. |
