Looking to install a front steering stabilizer kit on my 57 Tbird. I get a lot of shimming when going over dips, pothole etc, etc. The entire front end is ALL NEW. Its been aligned and has new radial tires. The steering box is as tight as will be. Haven`t found any commercial kits online. ANY help will be appreciated.
I would even make one if i have some plans. Farmerdick |

Power assisted steering or manual?
The idler arm should help with that shimmy, assuming it was replaced with a good one. When the front-end was realigned after new parts were installed was extra 'positive' Caster included in the adjustments? It needs to go a bit beyond original specs. It helps the steering self-center and is usually needed when using radial tires on vehicles that originally had bias-ply tires. . Last edited by dmsfrr; 07-27-2025 at 09:44 AM. |

I’ve been around bird’s since my first one in 1967 (a 55). First time I’ve ever heard of someone looking for a steering stabilizer. Something else is wrong.
