On a US model pickup, the 35 grill is not as wide front to back looking at it from the side. I do not know if the radiator fill hole will align with the top of the radiator, but if you have the grill in hand, you could check the measurement. The grill ornaments at the top on a 35 and 36 will not be the same. I believe the hood tops are the same on a 35 and 36. The hood sides I believe are dimensionally the same with the side emblems in different places. The inner fender panels on a 35 and 36 should interchange. The inner grill panels on a 35 and a 36 are very different and I doubt they would interchange. The panel that goes at the bottom of the grill and bolts to the chin that is present on a 36 is not on a 35 so the 35 would not be tapped for that panel which may well not fit. The radiator mount bracket on a 35 frame only has one hole on each side for mounting the radiator, while the 36 frame should have two on each side. If there is an alignment issue with the 35 grill and the 36 radiator, it may be as simple as using the other hole on the 36 radiator bracket. I do not know if that is the case, so maybe someone else can respond.

I looked into this a couple years ago and it boiled down (no pun intended) to the radiator Ted. Ford increased the radiator size in 36 on the front side which required the new grille which extended farther forward. To my knowledge so far the radiator is the only requirement. I did not proceed as I figured the increased cooling ability of the larger radiator must have been a good idea.

The 1935 radiator grille shell has a different radiator grille shell apron, different hood ornament and different lower radiator shield. The shell itself is deeper and has different side supports. You will need to find or replace all these parts.

All that said, the 1935 and 1936 radiators grille shells will interchange. Both 1935 and 1936 pickups and trucks had a three tube rows and four tube row radiator versions. Both versions of grille shells will fit either year. Ford enlarged the depth of the radiator grille shell, shell side supports, apron and shield 1936 in an effort to capture and direct more air to the radiator. This is all assuming there are no modifications made to your pickup that might cause some interference. For reference, attached is the table showing the different radiator types for Model 51 trucks, but pickups used the same radiator but with the only difference being the angle of the bottom hose fittings.
