Guys I bought a 34 luggage rack years ago to use on my 35. It was missing the 2 smaller brackets that brace it to the main bracket . I知 in the process of getting 35 brackets laser cut to complete extra 35 racks, but my question is , are the 2 smaller brace brackets the same on a 34 as a 35, as I can easily get 2 of them made extra , then I値l have a complete 34 rack too. Dan

The part you are referring to has part no. 40-18622/3 and should be compatible with 1934. In Oct of 35 it changed from -A to -B but kept the 40 prefix

Thanks , but the photo I posted isn’t mine, just a nice photo I found showing the art in question. However, yes it’s true I don’t have those knobs, and can’t find any availability for them anywhere either. So I’ll have to possibly make them from alloy stock. It seems from Don’s part numbers they’re the same so I’ll get these brackets made the same as the 35 brackets I have. Thank you everyone. Dan.

According to what has been indicated to me, the 35 luggage rack would not
have any knobs on it. There would have been the large bolts that are shown in the picture of the rack. However, I don't know if the 35 rack would have had knobs on it. Maybe Don could chime in and post an answer for that. Peter |

35 and 36 racks did not have chrome knobs as suggested by others. All bolts had a black paint or oxide finish. See attached factory photos.

Thank you everyone I’ve sent a message to Michael to see if he can supply these bolts for me. When I finally get new brackets made I’ll post them here , let’s see how they look.

Here is some information and photos that may help with luggage racks used on vehicles with rear mounted spares.
In this case fitted to my 1934 Cabriolet. |

Note that the rack brackets shown in Graham's photos and Trevor's Service Bulletines pages are the Ford of Canada versions (40C part number prefixes), quite unlike the U.S. versions.

Danny
I have a set of knobs I am having my machinist/friend/customer see about duplicating (maybe in SS). I will keep you posted!!! ALSO IF you don't find bolts, I need a set too.....so IF you get the measurements of them IF you don't mind sharing them I can make them as well!!!! |

Robert,
I will check, but I think that the bolts vary by year. If I have any, they would be for '32s. W hat year do you need? |
