Count me in on the "no clear" side. I still haven't made it all the way through this thread. I'm getting the early part (as I read it) and the new part when it comes out.

I wish I could see your truck in person but realistically that just isn't ever going to happen, so I'll just have to see it (here) on the web.

Folks,
I had a friend come to appraise the Comet and the 32. He took the 32 for a ride while was he was here. He liked it!

Kube, Folks,
Yes when ever I jump in and fire it up I enjoy it coming to life and moving again after all those years of setting in a corner waiting! I should drive it more but its not easy to get in and out at our age. These 32 cabs are not big and roomy. But it has grown on me a lot!
The previous owners really did a nice job keeping this truck inside for 70 years, waiting for me. Since I was born the same year it was last inspected in 1952. Also they just left it alone and did not tear it all apart. Just an amazing back story. A well used truck but not totally whooped on!
We are not going to make the Early V8 club meet this year.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Guys,
Hot summer! We have been working on a lingering tractor project.
Driving the Comet a lot! And even took the ragged old truck to town a couple weeks ago. Hope things are good out there! Stay cool and keep driving!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Mark, Folks,
Well the 32 gets backed out of the shop when I am painting and pulled back in when I am done. Not many outings or miles on it this year.
We have made up for all that with the 65 Merc!
A couple days ago I got a knock on the door and a local guy brought a old gas for me to look at. At first glance it looks a lot like my tank in the 32. The seats from my truck almost fit but several features on the new tank hold the seat cushion upward out of position. I bought the tank. Took some pictures and sent them off to David R. He feels it is from a 36 Ford big truck. I think in a pinch for a tank this could be made to work in my truck. Seat frames would need to be modified. I don't have any plans to do that as long as my tank is functioning. So I have another piece of old Ford stuff.

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Chris,
I think this is a gas tank from a BB truck. Maybe it's not a 1932 BB truck gas tank if your seat doesn't fit (assuming you have the original seat). The underside has small circle with six bolt heads in the location where the hydrostatic gas gauge sender should be. The fill neck is on the top which is the position for 1932-1934 trucks. In 1935 and 1936 the Model 51 truck fill port is located on the passenger side of the tank. This is why I think it's a BB tank. Interesting to note that someone added an electric level sender on the top of the tank on the drivers side. That's a clever solution to replace the hydrostatic gas level system.
I took some photos of a really nice BB gas tank at Hershey last year. When I find them, I'll send them to you for comparison.
Dave

It's too bad that the Ford Barn doesn't have a "like" button like many message boards to...

There is kinda.
Go to the top of the page and note the "rating"...
Tap on that and a drop down menu will show up. You have a number of choices from terrible to excellent.
Just a moment ago, I gave this thread five stars

It kinda looks like a fuel tank from a 1938-39 1 ton to 1-1/2 ton truck.

Guys,
The tanks has been set aside into the spare old parts area under the bench for a while or till the auction. Really do miss getting the 32 out in the world. It spent 70 years tucked away. We do plan to take the truck to the Albion fair in Sept. I also am trying to get this Allis CA tractor cleaned up for the fair too! The truck is ready for prime time the orange tractor is not!
I did get some well drilling equipment books from various suppliers. Neat books to go with the 32 truck information.

Thanks guys on the thread. Hope each of you get a little bit from the content. So many on here have helped me with the 32 AAB truck!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Folks,
Moving the 32 in and out of the shop while I paint parts for a Allis Chalmers tractor.

It starts up well, the old 4 speed is smooth when shifted slow. Clutch and brakes are stiff but function as they did in 1940. Placing my hand out the swung open front window makes me smile. Seeing the after market patina turn signal yellow arrows, light up, pointing the way and are a nice change from modern dash lights. There is no canceling of the turn signals after a turn. I must remember to flip the handle back to off position. Just little things that make the old truck a real step back in time!

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl
