i googled "common names for the models of v8 flathead engine" and google's AI revealed that a common name for the 60HP flathead is "v8-60" and then googled "v8-60 flathead".
BTW sid, we're all more dense than we think. nature wants it that way. it's called the ego. and without it we wouldn't act upon anything that we hadn't ever thought of or done before.

Try asking it in a more general way like; “Flathead Ford V8 engines,”. Then if/when a selection comes up you can look em over. Or sometimes just simplifying and reversing the words, like; “Ford Flatheads” can work. Computers have their own minds, and are stubborn. Good luck.

You might try The H.A.M.B. or Grassroots Motorsports. There has been 60 horse there in the past.

pictures that will help me with proportions & identification of components. i understand
they were scaled down flathead engines, and have the additional mystique of proprietary aftermarket speed equipment. blame the Smith & Jiggler heads for sparking this flame! |

Gotcha. Well, I'd suggest getting in touch with KiwiTony aka Tony Price on here. He has an incredible collection of V8 60 speed parts.
When you say Northeast Coast, do you mean the US? If so, there are a bunch of Craigslists add for guys selling collections of V8 60's and our own Ronnie Roadster just posted he is selling his stash of V8 60 stuff and he is in CT. |

thanks for the leads. yes; US.
i know the Connecticut area has an incredible traditional hot rod following. the brainstorm of the week is to get enough information, coupled with a full size scale engine (sounds contradictory, eh?) and be able to scratchbuild a "60". there's a few fellows 3D & resin casting them, and one out of production kit has one, but where's the sport in that? and then there's the transmission . . . but first things first. |
