Wonderful pieces of machinery. Boiled linseed oil is very good. That rig appears to have earnt it's keep back in the day. I really like seeing things like this.

It would feel awkward shifting with my left hand, but am sure I could get good at it, if that was mine.

Don't know if it's available down under but Gibbs oil is an option to use to preserve the paint. JMO
https://gibbsbrandlubricant.com/ It leaves no sticky dirt attracting residue and can even be painted-over! (Gibbs) Contains No: Silicon's, Waxes, Acids, Corrosives, Teflon, Graphite, Abrasives, Arsenic, Kerosene, Perfumes, Carcinogens or Synthetics.
