I find it interesting how popular it was "back in the day" to be photographed sitting on your car. Lots of pics showing folks up on fenders, hoods, bumpers, what not. Something you'd never do today.

It was also tradition back then to straddle the hood for a photo if this was the first car you owned. People were generally smaller and not as beefy 100 years ago as they are today, so unless you bounced up and down on the hood, the chances were good that you wouldn't dent or bow the hood top panels.

Back in the 50's and 60's the boy's in my neck of the woods all set on the front fenders and road hunted at night. Now besides it being against the law to road hunt, the cars are not made right to ride up there.
